Can CBT help me?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can be used to resolve a wide range of problems and common mental health disorders, including:

- Depression

- Anxiety

- Phobias

- Panic attacks

- Obsessive compulsive disorder

- Post-traumatic stress disorder

Chronic fatigue syndrome

- Fibromyalgia

- Relapse of mental illness symptoms

- Life stress

- Relationship conflict

*Please note: this is not an exhaustive list.

Good mental health confers an awareness and sense of flexible control over our lives. However, mental health is fragile and can be disrupted by many different internal and external forces.

In order to restore balance and foster resilience, we all need to re-calibrate ourselves against objective reality from time to time.

One of the great insights offered by scientific psychology is how easily we can become illogical, short sighted and distressed. This can easily manifest in conditions such as depression and anxiety. Hence we are all susceptible to varying degrees of mental ill health.

Culture Nudge delivers evidence-based treatments, primarily cognitive behavioural therapy or 'CBT', to treat a range of psychological concerns. We also deliver coaching, providing a pathway to boost self esteem, fulfilment and success.

CBT is a practical therapy which aims to instil you with the insight and tools to essentially become your own therapist. Collaboration between you and your therapist is key, as you are considered the expert in all things 'you', whilst the therapist brings with them a wealth of clinical expertise.

In the first session, your needs and goals will be discussed in order to map out a program to achieve your desired outcomes.

Over the course of treatment, you will be supported to acquire mastery over the application of constructive, transferable CBT techniques.  These methods have been validated through large numbers of research studies.

Your Culture Nudge psychologist will encourage you to observe your thoughts and beliefs, and to evaluate their validity, gently nudging you to consider alternative perspectives.  This will help you to acquire a curious, flexible outlook on your life.

The methods and mind shifts developed during a course of CBT will stay with you long after your sessions come to a close.  In this way, you can consider a course of CBT as a sustainable investment in yourself, which you can continue to draw upon and develop independently.

The outcome of the CBT process is to instil self-efficacy and resourcefulness, which will equip you to move forward with newfound adaptability and resilience.

Our CBT coaches offer an array of themed coaching packages, including:

- Wholistic life coaching

- Performance coaching

- Thriving under pressure

If you feel stable and content with your life but need to shake that niggling feeling that you are yet to unleash your full potential, coaching could be for you!

Psychology is not just the study of weakness and damage,

it is also the study of strength and virtue.

Treatment is not just fixing what is broken,

it is nurturing what is best within ourselves.
